Here are three more clever uses of social media that you could put into play to boost sales:
- Bring ’em back. Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and MAC Cosmetics asked Facebook fans to vote on their favorite shades of discontinued makeup. The winners were then relaunched for sale online only.
- Ask for photos. Nothing boosts engagement on Facebook more than photos. And clothier The Men’s Wearhouse prompted fans to post photos to its Facebook page for a chance to win deep discounts.
- Crowdsource. How about giving your customers the chance to pick your next new product? In Germany, McDonald’s gave fans a chance to customize and name their own burgers, which were then voted on. The winning recipe was sold at 1,400 locations. The winner was the Pretzelnator, which included ham, cheese, and a pretzel-like bun.
