Yes, there’s a veritable avalanche of demands for CEO resignations these days and some of these leaders are actually stepping down in the face of
mounting pressure. There are others who should think about it, too.
Yahoo’s embattled chief, Scott Thompson, resigned in disgrace recently after reports surfaced that he lied on his resume.
The leader of JP Morgan Chase, Jamie Dimon, is also facing increased calls for his firing (although so far, he’s survived attempts to force him out of his post.)
Now, Forbes has come along with an opinion piece on the top five CEOs who deserve to be kicked to the curb.
Top of the list: Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer, whose poor decisions about operating systems (remember Vista?), music (the illfated Zune) and mobility (the company has no presence at all in this exploding market) have made is once powerful software company something of a laughing stock.
Also on this list of lousy leaders, John Chambers of the tech behemoth Cisco and Jeffrey Immelt of General Electric.
