There’s no better time than now to check out light-emitting diode (LED) lamps for commercial facilities.
Reason: More than $5 billion worth of commercial LED rebates are available from an array of 800 LED rebate programs – 39% more than two years ago.
Performance and quality in LEDs have improved in recent years. While LEDs may not replace fluorescents anytime soon, businesses are having success using LEDs for:
• parking lots and garages
• task and desk lighting, and
• outdoor walkways.
Because of their long service life and easier disposal, LEDs reduce maintenance costs. They’re also the most energy-efficient lights on the market. One downside: Some LEDs fail unexpectedly, or gradually lose their light output and efficiency.
